We're continuing to add all sorts of amazing animal-themed products to the ZooHood shop. The latest additions include some seriously lovely products - a range of notebooks made by our friends at Ohh Deer. See above for some images, or visit the notebooks page of our shop website.
Each one of these Ohh Deer animal-themed notebooks is an A4 sized book with eighty blank white pages. They're really well made, with a 350gsm card cover that features an illustration on the front cover. The illustrations are all animal themed (as you might expect from us), well printed and strikingly cute. There are 4 options to choose from: a red panda with a woolly jumper, a collage of lots of different animals, a polar bear in a bobble hat and a tiger in a headdress.
They join the existing notebooks which we already had in our store - which include notebooks featuring hares, owls, foxes and otters.
Notebooks make great gifts. Everybody loves stationery, and you can never have enough of it. As lots of you will be going back to school/university/college at the moment, we're expecting to sell a lot of these beauties in the coming weeks as well as in the run up to Christmas. So come get 'em people!
Check them out, along with other fab stationery products, on our animal stationery page.

The vote was held by the Ugly Animal Preservation Society. Their hope is that the vote will have raised the profile of some of the ugliest animals in the world, who are often ignored by efforts in nature conservation. "Our traditional approach to conservation is egotistical," the President of the Ugly Animal Preservation Society told BBC News. "We only protect the animals that we relate to because they're cute, like pandas. If extinction threats are as bad as they seem, then focusing just on very charismatic megafauna is completely missing the point." That makes sense to us - as humans we do tend to make more effort and donate more money to support cuter animals such as pandas, but in reality preserving the ugly animals is just as important to maintain the Earth's ecosystem. So well done them.
The Blobfish will now become the mascot of the Ugly Animal Preservation Society, having wiped the floor with the competition with 10,000 more votes than its nearest competition. And, let's be honest, it's easy to see why - with it's gelatinous, slimy flesh and big floppy nose sagging down over is down-turned crinkly lips, it truly is a vile wrinkly slimeball. It lives off the coast of Australia and bobs around at depths of over 600m, feeding on crab and lobster. Although not edible itself it does get caught in the nest of fishing trawlers, so it really does need our help, even if it is a complete minger!
More Ugly Animals
Here's another bunch of munters that we've found that missed out on the top spot...
The seriously ugly Naked Mole Rat.
The unfortunate Proboscis Monkey, with its astonishing schnoz
The utterly disgusting Star Nosed Mole
The unbelievable mess that is the Chinese Crested Hairless Dog
The hideously repulsive Aye Aye
If you're reading this post and thinking that you can really relate to this aesthetically challenged bunch, perhaps you should check out our animal-themed T-shirts and other clothing. Trust us - it will make you handsome!

We've been hard at work adding a whole bunch of new products - animal onesies by Sweet Holic - to the ZooHood site, and we're really pleased to say that as of today the work is now complete and the products are live! They're all available on the Sweet Holic page - go and check them out, they're seriously awesome.
Sweet Holic are one of the original manufacturers of animal onesies, a craze that has been around for coming up to 5 years now and which still seems to be growing. Their designs include dragons, bulls, panthers, cheetahs, skunks and unicorns. They rock.
In total we've added 21 Sweet Holic onesies, and each of them is available in 3 different adult sizes. So there really is one for everyone, no matter what size and shape you are and no matter what your favourite animal might happen to be. Added to the animal onesies we already stock (by brands such as Sazac and BCozy), we now have a grand total of 75 different designs. Yes you heard right - SEVENTY FIVE. We're so pleased to have so many - although they take up a huge amount of our warehouse space, doing the photoshoots is a lot of fun. You guys seem to be enjoying wearing them too, and as long as you keep buying them we'll keep expanding our range with all sorts of new animal onesies.

At ZooHood we're always looking out for ways that we can help animal charities to do their fantastic work. After all, if animals didn't exist neither would our amazing animal-themed products. That's why today we're supporting an event organised by the cat charity International Cat Care (ICC).
The ICC is a charity which helps cats worldwide through veterinary and welfare projects, as well as advice and guidance on all aspects of cat welfare for cat owners and professionals. Today's event is an awards ceremony rewarding people and brands that have gone the extra mile in the world of cat care.
ZooHood is proud to be sponsoring the event and providing attendees with £5 vouchers to spend on the cat-themed stuff (or other things) in our online store.
If you have a voucher from the event, it's easy to use. Simply visit the ZooHood store, find a product you like and add it to your basket in the normal way. During the checkout, when you get to the 'Order Confirmation' stage there should be a box entitled 'Redeem a Gift Certificate' - that's the place to enter your code and claim your discount. If you experience any problems, please just contact us.
If anyone else out there runs an animal-themed charity, we'd love to get involved with your work. Please feel free to contact us to discuss any animal charity partnership.
